A Valuable Visit to Strengthen Partnership and Empowerment
Refuge and Honey Center (RHC) was honored to welcome a delegation from YARID, including its Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Robert, for a special visit to our training center in Nakivale Refugee Settlement.
The visit provided an opportunity for the YARID team to meet participants, observe ongoing activities, and witness firsthand the impact of the RETI Project being implemented by Refuge and Honey Center.
During the visit, participants proudly showcased the skills they have acquired through vocational training programs, including sandal making, handcraft production, and entrepreneurship development. The delegation also interacted with graduates who have successfully established small businesses as a result of the training and support received through the project.
The visit highlighted several success stories, including young entrepreneurs who have transformed their skills into sustainable sources of income. Participants shared their experiences, challenges, and achievements, demonstrating the positive impact that vocational skills training has had on their lives and families.
The Founder and CEO of YARID, Robert, encouraged participants to continue working hard, investing in their skills, and pursuing self-reliance. He expressed appreciation for the dedication shown by trainees and the efforts of Refuge and Honey Center in delivering quality training and mentorship.
The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss future collaboration, innovation, and ways to expand opportunities for refugees and host community members. Among the innovations presented was the locally developed sandal-finishing machine, designed to help overcome electricity challenges and improve production efficiency.
